Autoweek mag is great!!

I have been getting Autoweek Magazine for more than 15 years and think it is the best auto related magazine of them all. It is bi-weekly, so it is up to date. The contributing editors, like Denise McCluggage, have been around cars and racing forever so they can give insights that other mags just cannot. Others, like Natalie Neff, have a real way with words that make the car stories come to life. They seem to have a pretty fair bias in their reviews, with the only exception being a bias in favor of Porsche, no matter what Porsche does. It has good racing coverage, good long-term reviews with fair reporting and interesting insights as to what is happening in the automotive world right now. In buying it through Amazon, I can get it at a price even cheaper than as a current subscriber.

The car enthusiast's biweekly

Autoweek comes more than once per month, so they are usually first with much of the news and car tests that car enthusiasts are interested in. It is a little pricey for an annual subscription, but shop around for price.

It Ain't What It Used To Be
I was a loyal AW subscriber for about 25 years (maybe more), but of late "it ain't what it used to be". There is now too much focus on personalities, events, watches, cigars, etc., and not nearly enough focus on sheet metal. If I wanted what they currently cover, I would have subscribed to GQ, not AUTOweek (with an emphasis on AUTO"). Further, too much reference is now made to "see more content on our website". That doesn't work for me since I do my automotive reading while pausing twice daily in my "reading room". (Reading from an iPad in the "reading room" just doesn't do it for me - I prefer pulp (no - not for that!) Fortunately, my local tire store provides Automobile magazine (as well as Car & Driver) in the waiting room. Automobile seems to satisfy my sheet-metal needs, so I am now switching over to Automobile. (I tried European Car, but it has way too much emphasis on BMW, Audi and Mercedes, to the neglect of other European makes - plus too many "aftermarket...
