Review :
A Great Resource for Academic Publishing
From the perspective of someone who has published a little and would like to publish more (especially unsolicited publications), this was a great resource! I had been looking for some guidance after getting an article turned down by a couple of publications, and Porter's book provided instruction, insight, and inspiration. The inspiration was the thing that I needed the most at this point, but I can also see the practical value of the book, giving guidance for each step of the publication process, from writing tips to how to deal with rejection to developing a "publishing lifestyle."

I highly recommend this book, though I would love to read a review from someone who has had more success in publishing as well.
