He trained her to fight, educated her, and took care of her.

Yum! That is all I can say to describe the ANGELS AND DEMONS novellas from Samhaim Publishing. Deals With Demons: Angels and Demons was the 3rd and final novella that I read from this group and like the other two, did not disappoint. Like a quickie, this novella gets straight to the point and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read more from this author!

I liked the heroine, Talia, from the start. She's tough as nails, and considering the hardships she's suffered, it's understandable. As the events from her past unfold and you learn what drove her into the arms of a demon, only to send her away from them years later, you'll ache for her. My only issue was that in order to maintain momentum for the "big reveal" there were moments when her thinking seemed a tad awkward and forced. Each time she started to remember what had sent her from Devlin's arms, she pushed the thoughts to the side. Likewise, there is little known about Devlin, aside from the fact that he's deadly, gorgeous, and carries a torch for our lovelorn heroine. There were moments when I tried to understand their...

I LOVED the book Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Unfortunately, this book is simply a remake of that one. Many of the stories are identical, and not much of the information is new. There are a couple chapters related specifically to having a baby, but you could read them quickly at the library without purchasing the book. If you haven't read the other book, this book would be great -- just don't buy both!!

My husband and I attended the Bringing Baby Home workshop, developed from this book, and I enjoy the text perhaps even more. Gottman's discussion about the origin of the concept of "spoiling" was fascinating and revealing about our culture and the historical influence behind some prevalent parenting theories. Gottman provides couples the tools, information, and the inpiration to stay bonded to each other and to become bonded to their babies. I found this book valuable and a wife, a pediatric nurse, and a new mother.
